We met Mr. Glen Gaidos at Columbia River Maritime Museum on May 16, 2025. He wished to personally hand-deliver this flag to OBON SOCIETY, with the hope that it can be returned to the family in Japan. Keiko provided an explanation of the writing on the flag.

We are receiving many Yosegaki Hinomaru daily from all parts of America and around the world. Our mission is to cultivate healing and reconciliation by returning personal artifacts taken during World War II back to families, promoting cross-cultural understanding and mutual respect across generations.

Thank you so much for your kind support!
